A Geneva Bike Cafe - La Petit Reine

My bike is in the shop, sad times but every cloud has a silver lining. Nestled between the bike rental shop and the station bike parking, is La Petit Reine

Tacked on to the side of a residential building, like an architectural afterthought La Petit Reine is a micro bar. And a rather dashing one at that. There is a massive penny-farthing welded to the side of the building, and UCI coloura painted in the seating area upstairs - all pointing to it being very pro-bike.

On the Thursday night that we visited, the railings were jammed with all different bikes and the outside seating was full of a cross section of Genevian cyclist - fixes, Brompton banker wankers, townies. It felt like the legendary East London Foundry before it sold out and got converted into uber swanky flats.

It's worth a look if you are in the area, and if your not then make a trip for it. For the non-cyclists (or those with their bikes being repaired) it's right next to the station. No excuses!
